Great atmosphere. very kind, and helpful staff. The food was excellent we had the four course lunch . It's nice and cosy inside.
Amazing food, service was fantastic never been in such a welcoming atmosphere, so attentive to every little detail. Honestly one of the best restaurants I've ever been to.

Amazing food! Great service and the owners are very accommodating. Always going back
Fantastic authentic home cooked Thai food, food is unique, recipe is original and very similar to restaurants that I visited in Thailand. Very friendly proprietor who cook herself and consistently maintain the quality; you will not be disappointed if you are looking for a real Thai taste.

Wow! Great interior, looks really nice. Plenty of seating, comfortable and tables well spaced out. Very good range of offers available from the menu with a huge choice (not too big). Meals themselves were delicious. Extremely tasty, beautiful spices and very good portion sizes. Didn't wait long between courses and each curry was delicious. The staff and service received was second to none. Sarah, the manager, came and chatted and was supremely nice. Our waiter was brilliant. All in all I can't recommend Shapla enough. Really struggling to find any kind of fault with it at all. Will definitely be going back. All our party agreed it was the best curry we have each had in a long time.
Food was ok. Had tandoori Chicken however you needed to order salad and yogurt mint dip as a side. Drinks were highly priced

Food was good quality, but takeaway service was poor. Ordered via Internet, but they only seemed to start cooking when I got there, as waited 25 minutes, despite ordering 25 minutes before I got there. It wasn't even busy (Thursday night).
Ive lived in the area since a child but its taken till i am 44 to discover this wonderful indian restaurant...it is also a take away...the staff here are always friendly and chearful...which i feel helps make a great experience along with tasty food..

I have been eating here for a number of years and the welcome and food are exceptional. The choices are plentiful. The only down side as with all Indian restaurants is the crazy price of the alcohol. Looking forward to the new Star of Bengal in Duke Street. Please keep the prices competitive lads and no increases to pay for the restaurant
One of the original curry houses in Darlington and certainly one of the best. This gets 10/10 from Barry and the DSRM Curry Club.

This has been the most amazing restaurant where we have celebrated many of our special days, dropped in for casual dining or shared beautiful meals with friend. In 25 years we have always had the best meals cooked by fantastic chefs, served by lovely staff all of which we have come to consider our friends. Gutted to hear of its closure today. Darlington has lost a great restaurant. We wish everyone all the best for the future. Maxine & John x
Main dish was truly delicious. The quantity of the main dish was a bit small, but they made up for that by providing a huge quantity of delicious vegetables - more than I could possibly eat. The staff behaved like they were running a high-class restaurant, yet the prices were very tolerable.

Food - Happy hour = good value for money £10 2xcourses Service - Excellent, except nobody asked until end what we thought of food and they were very apologetic when we said what we though.......Don't shoot the messenger I say. Food - judging by the speed it arrived, it was unlikely that it was fresh. Starter, mushrooms on bread, sounds nice, but bread was just a gooey mush. Main, encheladas, looked great, tasted of nothing. Hadn't been for a year, will not be rushing back.

The best Chinese buffet we have ever been to. Food was all fresh and large choice only 1 thing we didn't like was that we got too full to try everything. Staff were lovely and so helpful. Restaurant was lovely and clean and nicely set out so you didn't feel that everyone was crammed in. Compliments to the chefs they make lovely food. Now I have to work out how to go back again. Bit of a journey when its over 50 miles away lol. Worth every penny
Lovely fresh food and staff amazing family experience highly recommend if you have been out and about and need a family restaurant. Serves plain food for kids and the more traditional food for adults all self service and can cook meat to order. (2/6/18) another amazing visit every time we come it's friendly and welcoming this time for our boys birthday and we didn't mention anything to the staff but one of the lovely servers had seen his badge and took it upon themselves to present a birthday dish which made our boys day complete with sparkler.

The food here is good and has a good choice of food. And its very reasonabley priced compared to the other Chinese Buffet in town. The staff are friendly and run off their feet.but today was mothers day and it was very busy. My only little moan was the cleanliness of the spoons on the sweet counter. They were filthy and the container was re filled with filthy spoons after a complained. It was eventually brought out again with clean spoons dryed and polished properly. All the other main cutlery was clean to a good standard so I'm presuming this little glitch was down them being so busy. Needless to say this was the first time I've had this problem and I've been many times. And I shall be going back many times in the future.
NICE FOOD AND DRINKS GOOD FOR PRICE

Food here is very pleasant indeed. Four of us at a table, ordered a bit of everything of the absolutely tiny menu. What it lacks in quantity, it more than makes up for with quality. Excellent flavourful food and in good quantities. Superb value also. Lovely staff. Very small dining space and a real shame about the location in a room in a less than salubrious pub. If this was in a little place of its own in a nice part of town it'd not be out of place, as it is now, it's very much a diamond in the rough.

Do a good deal for £10 which gets you a starter main and rice or nan bread. Food is tasty and was cooked well.
Best Indian you can get, always get them from here ! Tried a chicken naag for the first time and must say this is the best curry I have ever had. All staff especially Sophie are very polite and professional. I would not go anywhere else. You will not regret eating in or having a takeaway from here. Compliments to the chef Chris chambers

Visited with my daughters on a Tuesday tea time for a treat. We had nearly the whole place to ourselves the food was dwlicious. The serving staff were very helpful and friendly .
I love going to pizza hut. Usually there is really good service with lovely staff. Last experience was a bit of a disappointment. Although it was not the fault of the staff there were kids running around the restaurant recklessly messing around in the toilets. Blocking the toilets. And preventing myself and other customers from using the toilet. Nothing was really done about it until they eventually left. It wasn't particularly busy but the service was really slow. Me and my partner knew what we wanted but we were on a limited time scale we waited almost half an hour after we finished our pizzas and the pizza dishes still hadn't been cleared away and dessert was not offered so we payed and left due to needing to be elsewhere in a hurry. Not the usual standard we are used to but if we have a better experience next time I'll change my review.

The place was very busy when we arrived so we were lucky to find a table. On the menu itself there is plenty of choice & the prices are reasonable. The food is absolutely delicious. I wanted crispy shredded chilli beef but it was sold out so opted for sweet & sour chicken with rice. The chicken nuggets had just the right amount of batter on them so they weren't greasy. My partner had surf n turf, he said that there was plenty of whitby scampi & a good sized steak. Then we topped it off with a honeycomb sensation sundae - again very nice. We'll definitely be visiting again.
Really nice pub, very big, we used the function room upstairs. There's only a little bar and they had one guy serving, bless him... He was worked like a mule that night! My only complaint is that children have to be out at 10pm which we weren't told and we had to leave through a side door!! Apart from that, reasonably priced food and drink.
22 Coniscliffe Rd, Darlington DL3 7RG, UK – 01325 354590
A great beer drinking pub, plenty of guest ales to chose from to suit all tastes in a bubbly atmosphere full of chatter and different Characters...lovely place to mingle and chat
Best selection and best kept cask ale in town! A really good, friendly crowd and equally pleasant staff and management who strive to keep it that way. Fancy dress and chanting will have you ejected in a heartbeat. They have a brewery and distillery on site, and are very knowledgable about their product. Guaranteed, a great evening out!
